Outlander is all set to hit the screens with its season 5 on Starz in the US and Amazon Prime in the UK in February 2020.
The fifth season which is based on Gabaldon’s Fifth book in the Outlander series will have nearly 13 episodes.
The shooting of Outlander season 5 was already started in May last year when the fans got a first behind-the-scenes glimpse. Last year in August, Starz confirmed the news that Outlander season 5 will stream from February 16, 2020, at 8 pm.
The fifth season of this venture will be seen revolving around a turbulent period in American history with the Revolutionary war when the colonies broke away from the imperialist masters.
The first look was released on October 5, which showed Jamie as a young lad on a day that his mother dies. It would appear that the purpose of flashback is to make even more poignant the choice that Jamie has to make between his Godfather and the security of Fraser’s Ridge. Season 5 will likely be open with gathering.
Jamie and Claire will be back facing new challenges. Sophie skeleton would be returning as Brianna. Richard Rankin would be back as Oxford Academic and Brianna’s other half, Roger. Other returning characters include Marsali(Lauren Lyle), Murtagh(Duncan Lacroix), Lizzie(Caitlin O’Ryan), Ian(John Bell), and Phaedre (Natalie Simpson).
A set of twins has also been cast, likely to play one of Jamie’s Grandchildren.
Fraser’s Ridge isn’t really in North Carolina. Scotland is the main location used for filming Outlander, standing in for North America this season.
Season 5 of Outlander finds the Fraser fighting for their family and home they have forged on Fraser’s Ridge.
The show’s stars are also now producing on the series. Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan are officially producers on the series.
